    Serengeti

    Where Wildlife Roams Free

Experience the Great Migration, encounter lions and elephants, and witness nature's greatest spectacle

    About Serengeti

The Serengeti National Park is Tanzania's oldest and most popular national park, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Africa. The name comes from the Maasai word 'Siringet' meaning 'endless plains' - and indeed, the savannah stretches to the horizon.

Home to the Great Migration - over 1.5 million wildebeest and 250,000 zebras making their annual circular journey - the Serengeti offers unparalleled wildlife viewing. Lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffalo roam freely, alongside cheetahs, giraffes, and countless other species.
