Baa Atoll

Baa Atoll was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 2011, recognizing its exceptional marine biodiversity and well-preserved coral reef ecosystems. The atoll is famous for Hanifaru Bay, where hundreds of manta rays and whale sharks gather during the monsoon season.

The atoll features 75 islands, 13 of which are inhabited, with the rest being pristine uninhabited islands and luxury resorts. Conservation efforts here have made it a model for sustainable tourism in the Maldives.
