Fjällbacka is a small harbour village in Bohuslän, set between the sea and steep granite cliffs. The harbour provides the natural centre, while Kungsklyftan gorge offers a dramatic route through the rock above the village. The compact setting makes it possible to combine waterfront life and a short climb without extensive travel. Fjällbacka is also a base for boat trips into the surrounding archipelago. Summer has the broadest range of services and the most visitors, whereas the shoulder seasons offer a quieter impression of the village and coast. Boat departures depend on season and weather, so check arrangements before arrival. For walks around the cliffs, use suitable shoes and allow extra time when surfaces are wet.
