About Kiruna
Kiruna is Sweden's northernmost city, set in Arctic Lapland among mountains, forests and vast open landscapes. The city is undergoing a long-term relocation linked to the expansion of the iron-ore mine, making modern Kiruna an unusual meeting point between industrial history, Sámi culture and contemporary urban planning. Winter offers snow, polar-night light and good conditions for northern-lights trips, while summer brings the midnight sun and access to hiking country. Kiruna is also a practical gateway to Abisko, Jukkasjärvi and the mountain areas toward the Norwegian border.
