    Best Time to Visit

    The best time to visit Extremadura is from March to May and October to November. Spring is spectacular for birdwatching in Monfragüe National Park and seeing wildflowers. Autumn brings dehesa landscapes in golden colors and mild temperatures. Summer is extremely hot (40°C+), best avoided. Winter is mild but can see occasional cold spells.

Rainfall is moderate (400-600mm annually), falling mainly from October to April. The dehesa oak woodlands create a unique microclimate.
