Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit La Gomera is from March to May and October to November. This UNESCO Biosphere Reserve is home to the ancient Garajonay laurel forest, a prehistoric ecosystem that has survived for millions of years. These months offer ideal conditions for hiking through misty cloud forests and exploring traditional villages connected by silbo gomero, the famous whistled language.
Climate Overview
La Gomera has a subtropical humid climate, particularly in its higher elevations where the Garajonay cloud forest captures moisture from trade winds. This creates a unique microclimate with regular mist and fog that sustains one of the world's best-preserved laurel forests. Coastal areas are warmer and drier with temperatures of 18-26°C, while the highlands are cooler and more humid.
